Em 1º de julho de 2011, Montreux sediou a reunião de dois guitarristas mestres, Carlos Santana e John McLaughlin, com seu concerto Invitation To Illumination. Ambos os músicos têm sido regulares em Montreux ao longo dos anos, mas esta foi a primeira vez que eles encabeçaram seu próprio concerto juntos. O show apresenta a maioria das faixas de seu clássico álbum de 1973 Love Devotion Surrender misturado com uma riqueza de outros materiais. A noite foi uma vitrine de virtuosismo musical supremo e espiritualidade e tipificou a abordagem desses dois grandes artistas. É certamente uma performance imperdível.
