Hello, my name is Sonia, I´m Brazilian, from São Paulo, and I teach Spanish and Portuguese for expats. I graduated in Arquitecture and Urbanism at USP and worked several years in this area. While I was working as an architect, I studied Letras in USP. After I had children I decided to start a new career that would allow me flexible hours and as I´m fond of studying languages I studied Spanish in Instituto Cervantes, then went to live in Bogotá to improve the language and started to give classes in companies. Nowadays I´m learning French. Besides the language structures I´m also used to present Cultural Brazilian habits, as well as politics, economical and historical facts of our country. I believe that when you learn a new language, a whole new world appears to you, is like to earn a new life. Depois que meus filhos nasceram decidi mudar de área para ter horários mais flexíveis e como sempre gostei de idiomas, estudei espanhol no Instituto Cervantes e fiz uma imersão em Bogotá para aperfeiçoamento. Depois disso, comecei a dar aulas em empresas. Atualmente estudo francês. Além das estruturas da língua utilizo como temas para as aulas elementos culturais, políticos, econômicos e históricos. Acredito que a cada nova língua que se fala um mundo novo se abre, é como uma vida a mais a que se tem direito. Hello, My name is Sofia, I was born and raised in the beautiful city of Lisbon in Portugal and have been living in the very different but equally interesting city of São Paulo for some years. I´m bilingual as I studied in a British International School and hold the Cambridge Proficiency in English Certificate (CPE), which qualifies me to teach English. I also hold a B.A degree in Law. I´ve taught students of different age groups and levels and I have particular expertise in Business English as I also work as a consultant for foreign companies coming over to Brazil. I cover several business topics from the brazilian and international markets as this is what I do full-time! I´m also very aware and love to talk about more culture and art-related subjects. At any level I try to make my classes as tailor-made as possible, always with a more practical approach, with a lot of conversation and focusing on topics that are especially interesting to the student. Besides English, I can also teach expat Brazilian-Portuguese. This allows for a better practice of the grammar, pronunciation and the vocabulary of everyday life situations. Hello! I'm Jarrod from Sydney, Australia. I have a degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Technology, Sydney. After graduating, I worked as a Control Systems Engineer in a Nickel mine for 4 years in the outback of Australia. In 2010, I left Australia for the UK and received a second degree; this time a BA in Cinema, from the Met Film School in London. I made many friends from the United States, Europe and the rest of the world and I continued to live in London for several years working as a filmmaker and teaching camera. A few months ago, I moved to Brazil to start a new adventure: learning Portuguese and teaching English. I can conduct classes in Pinheiros, Sumare, Vila Madalena and other places close to the Green Line. I'm also open to teaching at my house in Perdizes or via Skype. Hello I'm Josephine! I graduated as a Bachelor of Science in Business Management at Xavier University and continued my Masters Degree at USC, Los Angeles, California. I was born in the Philippines and lived for 8 years in the U. S. working as a substitute teacher in various schools in Orange County (CA) and as an editor to a private company. I lived in Tokyo for 18 years and took Japanese language and business courses so I was able to teach English in various schools there. Hello everyone, my name is Tim and I am from the Netherlands. I grew up in Maastricht in the south of the Netherlands; I have been living there a great part of my life there. I am studying economics at the university of Maastricht. Currently I am in an exchange program in Sao Paulo at FGV. I have been studying English since high school, so I speak English fluently. Last year I have worked as an English-teacher in a school in Cape Town, South Africa, gained a lot of teaching experience and found out that I really like teaching!
